CANADA DAY SPECIAL TO BIG VALLEY (Steam)

Steam-locomotive No. 41 will be decked out with Canada flags, and the trip includes a full course buffet Steak Barbecue meal with all the trimmings at hall in Big Valley plus Canada Day gifts/tokens. As a special treat the Jazz Guys Band will be in concert on the west side of the Big Valley station weather permitting or at the community hall. Also featured will be live entertainment on board the train in the coaches and the Lone Star Saloon. There will also be time to visit Granny’s Fudge Factory and All That Buzz and explore a fully restored 1912 Canadian Northern railway station, the blue church on the hill – St Edmund’s, McAlister’s Garage Museum, the Big Valley Hand-tool and Collectibles Museum, the Big Valley Rail Car Museum, and the roundhouse and elevator interpretive centres. There is a high likelihood of train robbery by the Reynold Raiders, a group of horse-mounted desperadoes.
