FREE-MO TRAINS SPECIAL TO BIG VALLEY (Steam)

This is the 21st year of this annual show.

Modelers create one of the largest model train layouts of its type in North America. Participants arrange modules, level the the entire thing to create beach work covering most of the floor of the Big Valley arena.

This trip includes full course buffet style Alberta roast of beef and gravy meal at hall in Big Valley, live entertainment both in the coaches and in the Lone Star Saloon on board the train. In Big Valley there is time to visit the Free-mo model train show at the area, Jimmy Jock Boardwalk and All That Buzz, and explore a fully restored 1912 Canadian Northern railway station, the blue church on the hill – St. Edmund’s, the McAlister Motors community museum.

The Big Valley Hand-tool and Collectables Museum, the Big Valley Museum on rails, and the roundhouse and elevator interpretive centers are must sees. Mine payroll on board increases danger of being hit by the Reynolds Raiders horse-mounted outlaw gang.
