A Day at West Stettler Park

Where nature, music, and community come together, year-round.

Summer & Fall Adventures
Start your day with a leisurely stroll along the scenic pathways of West Stettler Park. This well-loved green space weaves through trees, open meadows, and around a peaceful pond that’s perfect for catch-and-release fishing. Bring your rod and enjoy the calm, or simply relax by the water.

Nature lovers will want to bring binoculars: West Stettler Park is a local hotspot for birdwatching, with everything from red-winged blackbirds to pelicans making appearances throughout the season.

Pack a picnic or grab a bite in town before settling in on a blanket or lawn chair for Music in the Park, Stettler’s free summer concert series. Held at the West Stettler stage, these Wednesday night performances highlight Alberta talent and are the perfect way to enjoy warm evenings with friends and family.

Traveling with little ones? The playground and splash park are always a hit, offering safe and exciting ways for kids to burn off energy while adults kick back nearby. Whether it’s climbing, sliding, or cooling off under the water features, this area is packed with family-friendly fun.

If you’re lucky, your visit might align with one of the many community events hosted here throughout the year, like Canada Day festivities!

Planter Pride

As you wander the park during the summer months, be sure to admire the gorgeous decorative planters dotting the pathways. These beautiful additions are part of the Heartland Beautification Committee’s annual Container Contest, with local groups and individuals adding their creative flair to brighten the space.

We at Destination Stettler love joining in the fun! This year’s theme is “Edible,” and we hope you enjoy our fresh and flavourful take on it! To keep the inspiration going, we’ve rounded up a few of our favourite recipes to match our edible planter:

Winter Magic

When the snow falls, West Stettler Park transforms into a winter playground. Bring your sled and head to Mount Stettler Hill, a local favourite for all-ages tobogganing. The groomed and cleared walking paths make it easy to stay active, even in the colder months. And with wide-open fields and forest edges, it’s a great spot to try snowshoeing or simply enjoy the crisp air and peaceful winter scenery.

From summer concerts to snowy adventures, West Stettler Park is a go-to destination in every season. Perfect for nature lovers, families, and anyone looking to enjoy a little fresh air and fun.
